The Ten Goddesses

Brigitte Calloway is a figurative sculptor.

Born in Transylvania, in a family of artists, painters and potters, Brigitte was familiarized early in life with an artistic lifestyle. Her development as an artist was influenced by her husband, well know painter Ian Calloway.

As a sculptor, she expresses the beauty of human bodies in her pieces of work. She uses clay as her main medium because of its primal simplicity that contains infinite metaphorical potential. Her work attempts to speak of transformation, genesis and decay of human bodies.

More of Brigitte's work can be seen on her website at www.brigittecalloway.co.nz

Brigitte shares a space in Ianís studio in Inglewood. Their Steyning Studio at 87 A Rata Street is open during the year by appointment.
