The crystalline structure of past glory
mixed media assemblage
900 medals on large crystalline shape, floating over a base of trophies
All won by one person, a dancer.
Certificates of attainment, badges of honour, trophies polished on a mantelpiece.
Rewards marking the hard effort. It's too easy to use the clichés ... no pockets in a shroud etc., but there's another angle.
When you stop climbing upwards, there's nowhere to go but down.
And if medals are earned on the way up, that's great, keep going for the next one.
Not for the medal itself but for the climb.
