Reach for the sky
mixed media assemblage
industrial waste, bullets, nails and jewels, on old beaded handbag, in constructed & gilded box.
33 X 25 X 4 cm
$240 + post

A friend gave me a squashed bicycle bell. Filled with brass cogs and a gilded hand and resin, it seemed to signify our being trapped in a messy industrial world. With the bullet cases, and a row of nails from a nail-gun, we are kept apart from the perceived beauty and simplicity of the ideal state.
