Kings & Commoners, All
Assemblage of found objects
Madame Death, a fired clay figure I VERY carefully brought back from Mexico some years ago,
A cast of a British chess figure for the anxious-looking King, teetering on the brink,
and - an Op shop find - the working peasants, figures made of straw.
Dale Copeland, 2024
I like this one.
For the truth it carries.
Madame pushing us all to the brink. And over.
The container had been a plain (and sturdy) box
that Alby Carter made for sending Tartist's artworks to Canada for an exhibition.
I took a lot of care to cover it, inside and out, to be suitable as a sarcophagus.
