Seeing the Future
assemblage of found objects
plaster model of a skull, glass bottle stopper, on/in book.
Dale Copeland

The book's title is "The Hour of Our Death".
A history of attitudes and ceremonies and beliefs through the ages.
"When?" and "How?" ... they are valid questions.
But "If?" That's too certain to be asked or answered.

I'm pleased with this assemblage:
The skull is a small plaster cast. A gift. Very well made, but too perfectly white.
My partner Paul is something of an alchemist when it comes to paints and oils and waxes, so he made it look just right.
The glass ball is the top of a large (and heavy) bottle stopper.
I had to cut a circular hole in the book, through the cover and the first 400 pages.
And drill holes to screw the skull on solidly.
