20/20 ... clarity of vision

| 20/20 The photo resurfaced from a years-old pile. It was the first version of a self-portrait my partner Paul Hutchinson was doing. It was so striking in its clarity of vision, so beautiful, that I photographed it, unfinished. Struck again by that sure and certain stare, I wanted to use it in an assemblage. Pinned on a ramshackle easel, in a rough and ragged studio. The artist is like this .... they can SEE, in spite of their surroundings. |
