| Do you know the term 'OE'. Overseas Experience. It used to be almost a necessary part of becoming an adult in New Zealand. Get as much education as you can handle, earn enough money to get on a ship or plane, and go see the world. A big like the 'Grand Tour' in Europe for wealthy Brits, but travelling cheap, getting odd jobs as necessary. And with all your belongings in a backpack. This one was with me for a year around the outback in Australia. The red 'bulldust' coloured everything. Then Europe on the cheap, sleeping in a small van. |
