To john
I am very interested in knowing the price, dimensions and media of "Trader", "Farmer's Wife" and "When the Lady Sings". Hopefully they have not already been sold and are at an affordable price that a struggling art student in America and her husband can afford! It was lovely seeing your work. Hope to hear from you soon.

The multi views of Mt. Taranaki/Egmont (so as not to offend anyone) give me a sense of spiritual centering. The physical sense of place transformed into a mystical sense of "soul's home".
The whole show of Taranaki is fantastic. I especially appreciate you including the young girls' art, for it shows what a deep impression this beloved mountain has made on everyone in it's sphere of influence. What a powerful show you have assembled---Congratulations.
Anne

Great exhibition! Thank you.
Especially I like the pictures by Rae van't Hof ("The Store" is the best for me) Pictures by Roger Morris are beautiful. This pictures remind me dream. His new picture "Auckland by Night" is very talented. Your pictures are remarkable too. I had read your book with interest. We have identical ideas. It is very interesting that we can show our ideas by so different works of art.

Eddy & Renate VAN LIERDE, New Zealand
Dear Dale,
I've been following the VIRTUAL TART for a while now and I think it is a wonderful idea. Today, I read in the paper about the exhibition in England in July, and since I am from Belgium(immigrated 2.5 years ago), I wondered if you have considered going all the way and have this exhibition of Taranaki artists in other parts of Europe. Once you bring the exhibits to England, Europe is just a couple hours by ferry away. If you are interested, I could see if I could get galleries in Belgium and maybe even other countries interested.
If this sounds like a good idea, please let me know.
Renate VAN LIERDE
P.S. I just love your work !

May 11, 1998

Happy birthday Anne! I hope this day will bring you as much joy as this morning has brought to me reading your comments and view, again, your art.
I was impressed with Taranaki Art web site. The work of some of the artists there is exceptional and I am delighted that you were invited to join in exhibiting your work with this group. Congratulations on this international recognition.

May 5, 1998

Umberto Sartori, Italy
The Fosters' Overworld is great, I like it most, both for idea and for execution. It is not clear for me the reason of referring it to Turner, Cezanne & C. but it doesn't matter.
I greately appreciated the poetic strength of Anne Harris' series, the high ability of choosing subjects so much effective in stimulating evocative experiences that can be shared crossover the countries and ages. I'd like to have seen them all realized with the quality of the artist's self portrait.
Umberto

May 5, 1998

Anne,
I very much enjoyed viewing this show.
Your art (digital) is much easier to appreciate in this show.
Your art (writing) made the art even more special.
I am sure that everyone appreciates what you have put together, but I doubt that any one outside of the family can appreciate the way I (and I am sure the other close family) you have given us such a wonderful history in words and pictures of our family.
Thank you.
G.

Rhonda Bartle, USA
To Marianne,
Just a quick electronic note to say thanks....I am a Taranakian currently living in California. I took the opportunity of sussing out Visual Tart (heard about it at home but never checked it out). I admire your work - and what a great feeling to have some of it on my walls over here, thanks to the Net and a damn good printer. Not quite the same as the real thing (!) but for me, a huge buzz to have 'Mountains' and 'From Mawhitiwhiti Road, South Taranaki' above my desk, attracting attention Stateside. Long may you reap the recognition you deserve.
Regards, Rhonda Bartle
