HAPPY NEW YEAR AND NEW CENTURY TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE "DOWN UNDER" and hope that isn't a derogatory term since it's rather "aussie" in origin.
Watched the fireworks in NZ (our Pacific Standard Time of 2am 31 Dec 1999) and noticed you didn't blow up your country.
Thank you for the report that you have safely entered the new year without computer breakdowns.

I must say that I am very intrigued by how dynamic the art scene seems to be in New Zealand, at least judging from your sites. If people are as interesting as their art, I can't wait to visit there (once I get over my fear of flying, of course and can afford to travel...).

November 6, 1999

Dante Mendoza, Canada
It is so nice to see art exhibits from far away places in my study room. I just came home from an art exhibit done here in Kitimat, B.C. Canada(done 2x a year;fall&spring arts & crafts fair). And I come to a conclusion that an artists' work is incomparable to another, unique in its own way. It is the OUTER EXPRESSION OF THE SPIRIT, who ever you are, where ever you may be. As Pam Walker said,"Some sense of the mystery of this world, expressed with force and passion".

November 6, 1999

Geraldine Oliver, New Zealand
Love the exhibition,

Rita and Steve Stevenson, Canada
We greatly enjoyed the work of Denise Newland and felt that it had more depth than much of contemporary art.It seems to come more from feelings than academic rules.

November 1, 1999

Neil Copeland, New Zealand
Saying "Nice" is hopeless. Detailed comment would expose me to just ridicule. I always enjoy looking at these pages when Dale sends me the link. I think any landscape is enormously improved by having Mt Egmont in the background. One of Pam Walker's pieces is untitled--is that intentional? Would have liked a couple of different angles on Susan Worthington's 3D pieces.
Cheers
Neil Copeland

October 10, 1999

colleen archibald-harris, Australia
The depths of Unverrichts' work are quite unique. The paradox with a creative combination of death and realism("Rabbit Punch") and his appreciation of Albrecht Durer are clearly visible. With regards to his pugilisitic works they are clearly a portrait of his self image and longterm will invariably a strong resale premium.
These are truely great paintings, by a future great New Zealand artist.
